Many military veterans return from combat duty with PTSD, disabling physical injuries, and few if any marketable or transferable skills. Often they can’t find or keep jobs. With no salary to support them, military families face a high foreclosure rate. Lack of support services and social isolation after discharge also contribute to homelessness.
Joblessness leads to homelessness, which leads to a shrinking social network, hopelessness, substance abuse and/or depression which amplifies hopelessness, depression, and further limits the veteran’s ability to find a new job, etc.
It’s a vicious cycle. It doesn’t have to be this way.
Veterans are leaders, team builders, and problem solvers. Civic assets. Trained and skilled people who can easily use their skills to help strengthen our communities.
Three Hots and a Cot was founded by veterans to support homeless veterans while they get back on their feet.
If you’re not financially supporting Three Hots and a Cot, you’re missing out on an incredible opportunity to be part of the lifeblood of an organization that’s making an impact!
Donate today. Set up a recurring giving amount to help veterans stay off the street and keep them graduating our program. Our communities need the skills and training of our veterans.
There are very few ways that anyone can help a battlefield hero become a hero in our communities. We feel that supporting Three Hots and a Cot is one of those ways.
Donate today. It’s an investment in the future of our communities.
